I’ve poured my heart and soul into every aspect of this art and business, because my great love is pouring this creative thing I have into others. When it comes to marketing my work, there are things I just won’t do anymore.
The marketing ploy of showing a Before and After kinda grates on me. Photographers do it, fitness things, magic hair care… showing a side by side Before and After. If you have some magic hair product, fine. But in most industries I don’t like it because it implies that there is something wrong with you that needs to be fixed. You less than perfect before, and now—after— tada! you’re perfect.
When you walk into the studio fresh-faced with your hair in a top knot, you’re lovely. Already perfect in every way. When we curl your hair and fluff your lashes, we’re not fixing you any more than frosting fixes cake. Cake is perfect. Frosting is complimentary. And it’s fun.
We have a blast here and push the edges of your comfort, but we’re not fixing you. You are perfect and beautiful whether you’re in fuzzy pajama pants, no makeup and wild hair or dressed to the nines.
