Confidence is a gift that doesn’t always have an ‘on’ switch, which is why I’ve decided to inspire you RIGHT NOW, right here.
The slippery thing about confidence is that it makes people attractive, and yet most people need to feel attractive in order to be confident. But, there's a hack to that… and here it is. You don't have to feel attractive or beautiful or sexy to be confident. You just have to do something a little scary. I say “just” because it works fast.
Unlike eating clean, working out, taking care of your skin - things that are great to do but take weeks and months to move the needle - doing something scary works pretty instantaneously. Examples? Go to a pool (if you can swim) and jump in deep end, like a kid would. Take it up a notch with skinny dipping. Look your barista/ cashier/ bank teller in the eye and tell them they're looking snappy today. The mom at the grocery store who is waiting out her kid's tantrum? Tell her she's a great mom. Call your parent / sibling / in-law / child that you least get along with and tell them something you admire about them. Go to karaoke night and actually get up and sing. Schedule your Boudoir Shoot.
I have done all of these things. Some of them, I do regularly. I work out and eat broccoli and wash my face too. Doing any of the hard, scary things comes with a gust of confidence. I promise. You don't need permission or validation. You don't need anything from anyone. Even if you do a scary thing and the result sucks, you'll still get the boost of confidence.
Do a scary thing, feel like you can do anything. It's just science.
