Today, it’s about encouragement.
Time has flown by so fast (crazy, right!?). I know, we all say it and we keep saying it… more and more as we get older.
This week a friend asked a bunch of us to send another friend a note of encouragement. Along with the mailing address, she said to encourage with advising. That made me stop in my tracks. I realized that I don’t know how to do that.
How do you encourage someone without giving advice??
I’ve googled, and now I’m going to practice on you. Some encouragement for the end of the year and holiday season.
Sometimes things are hard. It’s just facts. If you’re a human experiencing hard things, you’re bound to have emotions, thoughts, feelings, reactions of all sorts. And whatever you’re feeling and thinking is ok.
If you’re on my list and reading this email, I already know you. I see you. I know you’re resilient. You have a good heart. You care and you do your best. And that is a beautiful thing. Believe it or not, we’re all better for your existence. Your presence. And even if you can’t see the light at the end, it’s there. You’ll get through this to it. I believe in you.
So, I’m inviting you to hit that “reply” button and tell ME something…anything…about yourself. Got a story to tell? Tell it. Just wanna say hi? Say hi! I freaking love it when you reach out.
PS – While google searching “how to be encouraging” I realized that I may not be the only person in this boat. Which means that if you’re wanting to toss some encouragement around, hopefully I’ve helped.
