Last week I had a client consultation during which she started explaining how she likes being athletic and outdoorsy, but also likes playing with hair and makeup. She was almost apologetic when she said “I'm not like a tomboy, but … I don't know, I'm just weird that way I guess…” So I'm going to tell you what I told her.
There's been a lot of hub-bub lately around all the AI stuff popping up. For a while I was seeing everyone posting their AI artwork, myself included… and then it faded. I jumped into the AI artwork machine and had a blast splashing around. But there's only so much fun to be had when splashing around. I got bored.

The past year has had me thinking about legacy. The term “legacy planning” has come up a few times. I guess once you're in your 40s, it's time to figure out what happens to all your money and stuff when you die.

Time has flown by so fast (crazy, right!?). I know, we all say it and we keep saying it… more and more as we get older.
This week a friend asked a bunch of us to send another friend a note of encouragement. Along with the mailing address, she said to encourage with advising. That made me stop in my tracks. I realized that I don't know how to do that.
Did you also get taught that the way to get to the top - of whatever - is through perseverance and persistence and similar such words. I had messages ingrained that said things like “Don't stop pushing no matter what.” Don’t give up. Be Unstoppable.

Well, fortunately I rode that Free Fall ride many, many... many times as a teenager. It got me used to the various feelings and stages of doing wacky things in real life.
When I first heard Dr. Richard Grant talk about the Introvert's Backpack, I chuckled because he was so spot on. The Introvert really experiences life internally, inside our own heads. Every idea, emotion, and desire has to be processed before we can say or do something. So, we'll go through a day and just put those thoughts and feelings into our backpack. It's not bottling feelings, it's just that I can't keep up with life if I stop to chew on everything all the time. I have a thing, and I throw it over my shoulder into the backpack.
I had the opportunity to listen to Dr. Richard Grant again last week, and during his presentation, he gave us the following exercise. It surprised me with how simple and sneakily effective it was.
