When Marisa called me asking about a bridal session, I was excited at the simple fun of pointing my camera at a girl in a white dress. When we talked about locations, she wasn’t after the typical Colorado outdoorsy thing, but more urban and grungy. Even better! When she arrived looking radiant and beautiful, I was beyond thrilled. The Loveland Feed and Grain building graciously gave us permission and free reign to explore and shoot. It was a perfect late summer morning—sunny without being hot.
Marisa Horta is quite possibly the most photograph-able person on the planet. After shooting off a couple photos, I asked her if she’s been a model because she was just so easy-going and comfortable. I’ve shot with professional models that took 15-20 minutes of banter and bad jokes before getting comfortable. But Marisa was ready and gorgeous from the beginning.
I loved how many different expressions and looks Marisa good rock. Sexy, sultry, cute, smiley….
The Feed and Grain building is so much fun because it offers so many different textures and types of light. All of these are available light photos. I had a flash and reflector with me, but I was having such a great time without them.
How does someone get to be so amazingly fabulous!!?? When we shot outside by the truck, between Marisa’s Marisa-ness and those birds flying over I was sure that I’m the luckiest photographer ever.
RAWR…. She could be on the cover of a magazine, right? Thank you Marisa, for being you and for such a fabulous shoot!
