How about a crazy story for your Friday?
A whole bunch of years ago, I was 3 days from my lease ending in Fort Collins with no new place lined up. I hadn’t even started packing. I had a dog and 2 cats, and finding a place to rent seemed impossible. So impossible, that I hadn’t even been looking. (Super dumb… wouldn’t recommend it.)
That afternoon, with less than 72 hours of housing left, I decided I’d go for a bike ride to clear my head or something. 3 blocks into my ride I came across a house with a “FOR RENT” sign in the yard. I called the number, got inside and saw the note above taped to the bathroom mirror. I could not make this up. There was also a pretty sweet loveseat left behind (that I still own!)
I obviously signed that lease. 3 friends helped me pack and move in 24 hours – dog, cats, and all.
For the following year, I saw that note every time I was in the bathroom. First thing in the morning. Last thing at night.
