Last Thursday I got a phone call from Ross Bothwell of Elegant Images and Photographs, looking for a very last-minute second photographer, for a wedding the next day. I didn’t have plans, and I love weddings, so sure!
Ashley and Haven’s lovely wedding was at the Lionscrest Manor in Lyons, Colorado. When I walked into the room where the bride and bridesmaids were getting ready, I said hello and asked for Ashley. When she turned and said “oh, that’s me” I had a moment of shock at how beautiful she was. Strikingly beautiful, and calm and happy.
I had a blast being there with Ashley, her sisters, mom and friends getting ready, drinking champagne, adjusting hair and makeup and dresses. I have a ton of photos of Ashley doing whatever she’s doing, and being absolutely glamourous while doing it.
Ross hung out and took pictures with the Haven and the guys, so I didn’t even meet them until after the ceremony. Instead I got to be with Ashley the whole time. Before the ceremony, she sat watching her guests arrive. One thing I loved about the Lionscrest Manor was the light in the bridal room. All these “getting ready” photos where shot using the available light in the room, thanks to this fabulous big window.
Even just peeking at the awaiting ceremony, Ashley is gorgeous!
The lawn at the Lionscrest offers a perfect backdrop of Colorado mountains for the ceremony.
And after the ceremony, a sweet moment between the newlyweds.
Ashley and her dad shared a laugh during their dance.
And of course, you never know how feeding each other cake will turn out.
It was an absolutely lovely wedding. Elegant, beautiful and fun. I had a great time shooting with Ross and a great time at the Lionscrest. And tomorrow, Ashley and Haven are off to warm and sunny West Palm Beach for their honeymoon!
